5 years ago, only luxury car brands offered a host of creature comforts in their high-end cars that now you can find in normal car. Thanks to constant technological advancements and evolving customer demands, carmakers have become more focussed on offering exactly what customer is demanding for.
Having a sunroof meant you need to own a Mercedes or a BMW a decade ago. But now you can enjoy sunroof even in an i20. And even the idea of panoramic sunroof has now become normal in the auto market. From MG and Hyundai to Tata, all are offering sunroofs in their multiple offerings.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) tech was first introduced with Porsche 959 in 1986. At that point in time, Porsche 959 was the world’s fastest street-legal production car. Now you know why it came with a technology like this. Now, the presence of TPMS is another normal. From Mahindra XUV300 and Nissan Magnite to Tata Nexon, cars for normal buyers now offers Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
360 degree camera
360 degree camera is not a very old feature but you can now find it in more affordable models under Rs 20 lakhs. It assists the driver to park safely in tight parking spots and heavy traffic conditions. Models like Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Alcazar, Kia Sonet are now offering 360 degree camera on their top trims.
Cruise control used to come only in high-end cars a decade back. It comes in handy on highways where you can set the speed of car automatically and just control steering and brakes. Now, you can find this driver-comfort feature in several car models including XUV 500, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta, and more. MG has also recently launched level 1 autonomous driving with its cruise control feature.
India is a hot country and we don't need heated seats. Complying to market demand, car makers including Kia, Hyundai, Skoda, and MG are offering ventilated seats for added comfort in scorching summer seasons.
