Apple and OSAT are developing autopilot technology for car

25 Feb 2022

The Apple car could be the latest innovation from Apple Inc., and it will be a self-driving electric vehicle. Its self-driving mode will allow the driver to take their hands off the wheel and feet off of pedals while driving.

OSAT, a South Korean company, has teamed up with Apple to work on autopilot technology for cars. Apple's South Korean offices are leading the project. It began in 2021 and might end in 2023. According to reports, Apple is following Tesla's route. For its autopilot chip, Elon Musk's electric vehicle company relied on Samsung memory and JCET STATSChipPAC Korea for assembly.

Apple Car may also use LED displays to inform other drivers about the self-driving system's operations. It will be an excellent way of communication with other drivers.

The report says that when drivers are parking the vehicle, the displays could show a goodbye message or a welcome message to the user when they arrive at the vehicle.

The A12 Bionic processor is likely to be in the upcoming Apple Car's "C1" chip, which will include in-cabin AI capabilities like eye-tracking.
