What is National Lok Adalat?

National Lok Adalat is an organized national event hosted by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and State Legal Services Authorities (SLSAs) to facilitate speedy and affordable access to justice. Lok Adalats are held quarterly, and all pre-litigation and pending cases are discussed.

  • To combat the growing number of pending cases in court.
  • To provide a vehicle for dispute resolution without having to endure costly and lengthy litigation.
  • To provide citizens with a simple way to settle disputes.

Why This National Lok Adalat is Being Held?

  • Reduce Backlog: Settle lakhs of small cases all in one day.

  • Reduce Cost to Citizens: Enable citizens to save outlaying on legal fees, fines, and penalties.
  • Provide Timely Justice: Bring quick relief to people who have been waiting for settlement for years.

Through these sessions, the Judiciary intends to provide justice to all in a way that is accessible, affordable, and efficient.
