The RTO of Meghalaya administers the Transport Department of Meghalaya and provides services for various vehicular registration matters, driving licence, grant of permit, road tax collection and challan. The RTO seeks to provide to the residents a road safety-conscious environment while adhering to the underpinnings of the Motor Vehicles Act. For vehicle information, vehicle owner details, licence application, traffic challans, the Meghalaya RTO offices provides such services both online via Parivahan, or offline at the RTO offices.

How to Check Vehicle Owner Details in Meghalaya
Vehicle information check by number can easily be done online in government portals:
- Via Parivahan Portal
- Go to parivahan.gov.in.
- Click on "Know your Vehicle Details".
- Enter the registration number & captcha.
- You will get vehicle owner details by number plate, RC validity, insurance details, and fitness status.
- Via CarInfo App/Website
- Go to the CarInfo website or open the CarInfo app.
- Select RC Details under Vehicle Info.
- Enter your vehicle number.
- You will see:
- Vehicle owner name by vehicle number
- Date of registration & RC expiry

How to Pay Meghalaya E Challan
Traffic rule enforcement in Meghalaya is accomplished through surveillance with CCTVs and fines/challans. The process of obtaining the vehicle information and challans is very simple.
- Download either the CarInfo App or go to E Challan Check webpage.
- Then enter the vehicle number.
- You can see the list of pending challans with details.
- You can pay online through UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking.
- Finally, you can download a receipt that is the confirmation of payment.
