What is the RTO's Vehicle Registration Process ?
1Submission of Documents
The required documents to be submitted by vehicle owners to the RTO relates to:
- Form 20 (application for vehicle registration)
- Invoice from the dealer
- Valid insurance certificate

- Intermediate registration number (if applicable)
2Vehicle Inspection
The RTO physically checks the vehicle’s condition to assess if it conforms to all requirements with regard to its safety and the environment.
3Fee Payment
The owner of the vehicle should pay the due registration fees and road tax alongside all other charges dependent on the price and type of vehicle.
4Allocation of Registration Number
After verifying documents and payment of fees, a unique registration number is issued to the vehicle. In addition, there is also a choice for owners to obtain a fancy number through the RTO through an auction that they conduct.
5Issuance of the Registration Certificate (RC)
