I had no idea a challan was issued for overspeeding near Vyttila. I checked my Kerala e-challan here using my KL vehicle number, and it showed the exact violation with the AI camera image. The payment was quick and saved me a visit to the RTO.

    2. Bring along the following papers: RC, Driving License, ID proof, and challan notice (if you have one).
    3. Go to the challan/payment counter and ask them to check your pending challan.

    5. If paying in person, you may use cash if that is accepted, or if they have a POS System available, you may use your debit card.
    6. Your payment will be confirmed, and you will receive a receipt.

Pay at the Traffic Police Station / Headquarters

    1. Visit to your nearest Traffic Police Station or City Traffic HQ.
    2. To check if you have unpaid challans, provide your vehicle number or show them your challan notice.
    3. When an officer pulls up your record, confirm the display shows the correct details before you proceed with payment.

Received a Wrong Kerala Traffic E-Challan? Here's The Fix

On occasion, traffic penalties can be improperly attributed to you due to mistaken identity, license plate confusion, or technological malfunctions. If you believe that a Kerala e-challan incorrectly cites you as breaking a traffic law, you may dispute as follows:

    Step 1
    Step 2
    Step 3
    Step 4
    Step 5
    Step 6

Go to the Parivahan Grievance Portal

Access the official website - https://parivahan.gov.in - and find the “Grievance” tab in the e-challan services.

Organize your evidence to support your dispute. You could include:

    • Dashcam footage
    • Parking slips
    • Toll receipts or GPS location history
    • Images or documents showing your vehicle was elsewhere

    Complete a Dispute Form

Put the correct vehicle registration number, challan number, and upload all files. In the explanation area of the form, specify the details of your dispute.

    Wait for Verification

Your complaint will be forwarded to be verified by the Kerala RTO or traffic department. Once verified, the wrongful challan could be cancelled or amended.

Go to the Traffic Police Headquarters (if required)

In the event that you receive no communication in a few working days or if the matter is urgent, you may go to the nearest traffic police office, or the Traffic. Make sure you bring the originals and photocopies of all the relevant documents, such as your vehicle RC, driving licence and the e-challan notice.

Appear at the virtual court or at the physical court (if needed)

In some cases, if the matter is unresolved through the Kerala Traffic Police, the e challan can be moved to the Virtual Court Kerala, or Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Here you'll have the opportunity to challenge the fine with your proof. You can check the status of court cases or the hearing dates pertaining to your challan at https://vcourts.gov.in
