    If you do not pay your Punjab challan on time, it can really land you in a lot of legal trouble and financial headache. According to rules and regulations relating to traffic in Punjab, if you do not pay your challan within 60 days of it being issued:

    How to Pay Punjab Traffic Challan Offline

    Do you prefer to pay your e challan Punjab in person? Here are some official offline ways:

    At Your Nearest Traffic Police Station

    1. Go to your local Traffic Police Station (e.g. anywhere in Punjab - Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, etc.)
    2. Give your vehicle number or challan ID.
    3. Make payment using cash, card, or UPI (if accepted in the station).
    4. Get a printed receipt as proof of payment.

    On the Spot Payment

    If stopped for a violation and issued an e challan on the spot:

    1. Usually traffic officers may have a POS machine that takes card or UPI payments.
    2. You can also make payment using cash (only if this is officially accepted).
    3. Ensure you receive an SMS confirmation or printed slip as proof for your future reference.

    At Suvidha Centres / Sewa Kendras

    1. You can go to any Suvidha Centre or Sewa Kendra in Punjab.
    2. Provide your vehicle registration number or challan number.
    3. The operator will fetch challan details from the official system.
    4. Pay using cash, debit card, or UPI.
    5. Collect your payment acknowledgment slip.

    How to File a Complaint for a Wrong Punjab E Challan

    If you believe that your challan issued mistakenly, then you can easily dispute it in following ways:

    Go to the Parivahan Grievance Portal

    Access the official website - https://parivahan.gov.in - and find the “Grievance” tab in the e-challan services.

    Organize your evidence to support your dispute. You could include:

    • Dashcam footage
    • Parking slips
    • Toll receipts or GPS location history
    • Images or documents showing your vehicle was elsewhere

    Complete a Dispute Form

    Put the correct vehicle registration number, challan number, and upload all files. In the explanation area of the form, specify the details of your dispute.

    Wait for Verification

    Your complaint will be forwarded to be verified by the Punjab RTO or traffic department. Once verified, the wrongful challan could be cancelled or amended.

    Go to the Traffic Police Headquarters (if required)

    In the event that you receive no communication in a few working days or if the matter is urgent, you may go to the nearest traffic police office, or the Traffic. Make sure you bring the originals and photocopies of all the relevant documents, such as your vehicle RC, driving licence and the e-challan notice.

    Appear at the virtual court or at the physical court (if needed)

    In some cases, if the matter is unresolved through the Punjab Traffic Police, the e challan can be moved to the Virtual Court Punjab, or Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Here you'll have the opportunity to challenge the fine with your proof. You can check the status of court cases or the hearing dates pertaining to your challan at https://vcourts.gov.in
